Notes on the future of social media from the 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity presentation by Peter Kim the way it is used now will be gone it will be shoppable. not just viewing and reading text or clicking a link. you can make the purchase immediately. it will be snackable. shorter and more concise content - only a few seconds. So that users can get it, digest it and move on. it will be automated - artificial intelligence (AI) will take over. Higher yields can be gained by utilizing analytics, patterns, etc.... it will be connective. Back to the original purpose of connecting societies; the world. Net Neutrality Turns Down Telecom, Cable and Wireless

The U.S. Appeals Court upheld Net Neutrality today.  Net Neutrality allows government regulation of telecom, cable and wireless services. Relating to internet service providers (ISPs), the FCC will oversee how they handle web traffic on their networks. This includes allowing the FCC to review consumer complaints against ISPs. Gentleman’s Note #26

Gentleman's Note #26 characteristics I want my son and son-in-law to see and learn by watching me BE HER BEST VALET Today was a scorching hot day in Texas. I knew where her car was parked because we had driven to work at the same location. I had a key, so I told my son, "let's go get your Mom's car, cool it off and take it to her." He was pretty impartial to the idea as he expressed how much more important it was to discuss what happened after she received her car - taking him to the playground. I had inquired to find out when she would be leaving the building. My son and I went to her car, cooled it down and drove to the curb to deliver her car. When your lady is arriving at or departing from a location, be her best valet. Provide the most comfort and safety possible. If she is driving separately from you, always make certain her vehicle is equipped...

Remembering Sacrifices for Justice and Freedom

Remembering Sacrifices for Justice and Freedom

Today we remember all of the men and women who gave the lives in the service of our country as the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms that our nation continues to enjoy.  As I skimmed posts and thoughts others were sharing, one in particular caught my attention. It included a short excerpt from President Truman's speech on April 16, 1945 to a joint session of Congress during World War II. "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices. Because of these sacrifices, the dawn of justice and freedom throughout the world slowly casts its gleam across the horizon." Memorial Day should remind us that every pursuit for a cause is not accomplished without sacrifice. Right here. Right now. We have this day to continue striving to make a difference for others. It is one of the best ways to attempt repaying the immense debt we owe....
